S.A.R.G.E Grant - Closed Until Further Notice

  The Soldier & Airman Relief Grant for Emergencies (S.A.R.G.E.) provides direct financial assistance to current, retired, or former National Guard members—and unremarried surviving spouses—facing unexpected hardship or personal loss.

Grants cover non-reimbursable expenses such as rent, utilities, medical bills, relocation, or funeral costs. Awards up to $500 per household, based on verified need and available funding.

Applications must include Verification Form signed by an authorized leader or Family Programs representative.



Interest-Free Loan - Open

 The Interest-Free Loan Program offers zero-interest financial relief to National Guard members, retirees, and eligible spouses experiencing temporary financial hardship.

Loans up to $2,000 are available, with repayment terms from 10 to 25 months.

 Applicants must complete the free USAA Financial Readiness Course and submit required documentation, including a Verification Form, Guard Your Finances Completion Certificate and course Budget Worksheet.

Guard Your Finances 

The USAA Educational Foundation is honored to team up with EANGUS to improve financial readiness of National Guard members and their families. 

This course is designed with military members in mind and is REQUIRED in order to apply for our Interest-Free Loan program.
